Silver Prices Ended With Small Gains After A Weaker U.S. Jobs Report Kept A Lid

Silver trading range for the day is 16.4-16.6.

Silver prices ended with small gains after a weaker U.S. jobs report kept a lid on the dollar but did little to dampen the prospect of further Federal Reserve rate hikes.

The data came in a bit softer than expected in some areas, offering the Federal Reserve little reason to turn more aggressive with interest-rate hikes.

The U.S. economy added a fewer-than-expected 164,000 jobs last month while the unemployment rate tipped below 4% for the first time since 2000.
